TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING COVENANT CHANNELS OF BLESSINGS

Welcome All the Children by greeting each one of them. Ask them how the week was; how the school was; friends; teachers;

Do a recap of last Sunday’s lesson. Ask the children e.g. (Who was our Biblical Character? Which plan did God have for them..to take them from which country to which country? Who did God send to rescue them? What did Moses say when God called him? Who was the king of Egypt? How many plagues came on Egyptians?(give the children 5 minutes to write down the plagues not necessarily in the order and recognize/reward the child who gets the most) Memory Verse?  The songs we sang last Sunday,

Text Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever:Mal 3:6 For I am the Lord, I change not…(Sing Praise the Lord the God of Jacob,Joseph,Moses,e.t.c is still alive, Praise the Lord, He never changes at all at all….

BIBLICAL CHARACTER: MOSES EXO:2-3(Moses means-because I drew Him out of the water)..Pharaoh came into power. He was afraid of the many Israelites in Egypt and he thought they were too powerful.  He thought of how to get rid of them/make them few. He then made them work very hard as slaves(explain on what a slave does so that it is clear to them).he also ordered maternity women(midwives)that all Israelite baby boys when born must be killed. But the midwives feared God and did not kill.

When Moses was born because his case was different ,his mother hid him for 3 months in the house.  When she could not hide him anymore, she made a  good basket(if you have a basket do a demonstration) and put him inside and placed him by the River Nile but she kept Moses Sister to watch over from far. One day when Pharaoh’s daughter came to the river to Bathe, she saw the basket floating and sent out for it. She saw a baby crying and she was moved and adopted him and named him Moses. Moses sister suggested that she gets a Hebrew woman to take care of the Baby and she went for the mother.

As a young man, Moses killed an Egyptian who was fighting an Israelite and because people came to know, he escaped in the wilderness for 40 years where God appeared to him through a burning bush and God told him “take off your shoes the ground where you are standing is Holy ground”. Later Moses married Zipporah daughter of Jethro and he had a child called Gershom.

MEMORY VERSE: Eph 6:1-2.Children,obey your parents in the Lord for this is right.Honour your father and mother which is the first commandment with a promise. That it may be well with you and you may live long on earth.

Objective: Teach and Help the children understand COVENANT CHANNELS OF BLESSINGS

UNDERSTANDING COVENANT CHANNELS OF BLESSINGS

1.        Tithe (Ask/explain to the children what Tithe is in simple terms) Mal 3:10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse (church) that there may be meat in my house and prove (test) me now says the Lord. If I will not open you the windows of Heaven and pour out a blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.

2.        Worship offering ;Deu17:17 Every man shall give as he is able according to the Blessing of the Lord your God which He has given you

3.        Giving to parents Eph 6:1-2

BIBLICAL TRUTH: when we give to our parents we remain Blessed

CHALLENGE FACTOR: do I tithe?

POSITIVE CONFESSION: I will make   and keep a covenant with my God for my blessings

TOPIC: HOW DOES GOD BLESS

Text Exo 11:3 And the LORD gave the people(children of Israel)favour in the sight of Egyptians

BIBLICAL CHARACTER: CHILDREN OF ISRAEL WHEN THEY WERE IN EGYPT(Exo 7-14).God loved them so much and he had promised to take them from Egypt where they were slaves to Canaan-the land of milk and honey.(Exo3:17).God chose to use Moses and the Brother Aaron for this mission.however,Pharaoh hardened his heart and 10 plagues came upon Egypt for him to allow the Israelites to go(,Rod turned to a serpent(pharaoh);1)water turned to blood 2)frogs 3)lice 4)flies 5)all the cattle of Egyptians died 6)boils 7)thunder, hails and fire 8)locusts 9)thick darkness for 3 days 10)Egyptians ALL firstborns died including Pharaoh’s and Israelites were passed over.

MEMORY VERSE: Exo 14:13-14 And Moses said to the people, fear not. Stand still and see the salvation of the LORD which He will show you today. For the Egyptians you see today, you shall see them again no more forever. The LORD shall fight for you and you shall hold your Peace.

Objective: Teach and Help the children understand How GOD Blesses

HOW DOES GOD BLESS HIS PEOPLE?

1.        By giving us supernatural/divine/great ideas. Ask children to give examples of divine ideas e.g. discovery of medicine, how to cook food, creativity even without going for training or school, and talents and ask them for Bible examples e.g.  an example in the Bible is Noah on how he built an Ark (Gen 7;11)

2.        God Blesses us through Blessing the work of our hands e.g. when we study, we are obedient to our teachers,parents,we serve God by cleaning our Sunday school classes and washing dishes, God Blesses our work and we succeed in school work. Example in the Bible is Job-Job 1:9-10

3.        God blesses us by giving us Divine favour.  Ask the children to give examples of a day they were favoured e.g. in school, church, home.  Also ask them for examples from the Bible of people who were favoured E.g. Joseph, children of Israel Gen 39:21

BIBLICAL TRUETH: When God Blesses, no man can curse

CHALLENGE FACTOR: how has God blessed me?

TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING WHAT IS COVENANT

Text Gen 39:21 But the Lord was with Joseph and showed Him Mercy and gave Him favour in the sight of the keeper of the Prison.

BIBLICAL CHARACTER: JOSEPH: his father was called Jacob but changed to Israel (Gen 32:28). His mother was Rachel. Jacob had 3 wives (Rachel, Bilhar, and Zilphar).he had 12 brothers in total they were 13 brothers. He was handsome. He was very loved by the father because he was the last born and was given a coat of many colours (very beautiful) and the brothers were jealous because of that. He was sold as a slave by the Brothers to Egypt. Their country was Canaan. He was a dreamer and interpreter of dreams. Was wrongly accused by Potiphar’s wife and thrown into prison. He was put in charge of all prisoners.

MEMORY VERSE:

Isa 60:22 A little one shall become a thousand and a small one a strong Nation. I am the Lord: in its time, I will do this …

Objective: Teach and Help the children understand What a covenant is.

WHAT IS A COVENANT?

It is an agreement: a promise(ahadi).it is a contract; if you do this,i will do this: it is made between 2 or more people: it cannot not be broken: it is  legally binding.(give an example of the clothes,shoes,books,bibles we have or are wearing.the shop keeper who sold them to us cannot come back for them because we have already paid them.(you can give examples from the Bible of people who made covenants with God e.g,Noah,Abraham,Hannah(mother of Samuel)

How do we make covenants with God? Examples of covenants that we make with God.

a)        Kingdom service/serving God-coming to church and washing Sunday school dishes before and after Sunday school, cleaning Washing church(Exo 23:25-26)

b)       Offerings/Tithe-explain to the children the difference between the two(Mal 3:6-10)

c)        Worship/Praising God/Praying/Dancing(Deut 16:16-17,Exo 35:4)

BIBLICAL TRUETH: God honours ALL HIS COVENANTS

CHALLENGE FACTOR: Do you keep your covenants or do you sometimes break them?

POSITIVE CONFESSION: God help me not to break my covenant with you

Introduction: What is the Covenant of Prosperity?

An agreement initiated by God based on well defined terms and sealed with an oath. - Heb. 6; 13-18. It is the covenant of seed time and harvest that provides the gateway to financial fortune. - (Gen. 8; 20- 22, II Cor. 9; 6-10, Ph. 4;15-19)
