Prophetic Focus:  “PRAISE WORKS WONDERS’ Exo 15:11

Exo 15:11 Who is like you O Lord, among the gods? Who is like you? Glorious in Holiness: fearful in Praises: doing Wonders..

Welcome All the Children by greeting each one of them. Ask them how the week was; how the school/Exams/home was; Ask them about their: Parents: friends; teachers: ask them the activities they did during the week etc NB.encourage them to be memorizing verses over the week especially now that they are on Holiday and give them the opportunity to recite them before the other Children.  This will motivate them the more and encourage the other children to follow suit.

Do a recap of last week’s  lesson. Ask the children e.g. (Who was the Biblical Character? Memory Verse?  The songs we sang: Theme of the year:

TOPIC: WHAT PRAISE DOES IN OUR OWN LIVES

Objective: Teach and Help the children understand What Praise Does in our  own lives.

Text :Psa 67:5-7-Let the people Praise O God, Let all the people Praise you: Then shall the earth yield her increase: and God ,even our own God shall Bless us: God shall Bless us and  all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.

WHAT PRAISE DOES IN OUR OWN LIVES

• Praise makes God live in us i.e we have Divine Presence Psa 22:3
• When we Praise God, we have Divine Favour like Jesus Luke 2:52
• Praise destroys/removes any obstacle/barrier/hindrance between us and the Promises of God Jos 6:20

Song –Count your Blessing name them one by one: I will enter His gates with Thanksgiving in my Heart…We Bring a sacrifice of Praise unto the House of the Lord &we offer unto You the sacrifice…

BIBLICAL CHARACTER (1) JESUS CHRIST SON OF GOD gave thanks to GOD many times

(2)Children of Israel when they took over the city of Jericho-Josh 6

You can ask children to give examples of Occasions’ when Jesus gave thanks e.g

-When He raised Lazarus his friend=John 11:41

-When He fed 5000 men, women and children with 2 fish and 5 loaves of Bread (Mat 14:19:Mark 6:41)

Bible Trivia:

-Another name for Thomas the Disciple of Jesus is?

-Who were the Sisters of Lazarus?

-For how many days was Lazarus dead before Jesus raised Him up?

-Which is the shortest verse in the Bible and where  is it found I.e. Book and Verse?

MEMORY VERSE   Phi 4:6 Be careful for Nothing but in EVERYTHING by Prayer and Supplication with THANKSGIVING let your requests be made known to GOD

Prophetic Focus:  “MY SEASON OF ENCOUNTER WITH POWER” Psa 63:1-3

Psa 63:1-3-O God(Holy Spirit),you are my God: early will I seek you: my soul thirsts/(wants/needs/pants) for you, my flesh longs(desires) for you in a dry and thirsty land, where no water(symbol of the Holy Spirit) is:  To see your power (Revelation, prophecy, wisdom, understanding, knowledge… )and your Glory (wonders,miracle&signs) so as I have seen you in the sanctuary(church): because your loving kindness (fruits of the Holy Spirit) is better than life, my lips shall praise you

Objective: Teach and Help the children understand How to keep the Holy Spirit  in their lives Always.Ask the children  for suggstions….

HOW TO MAINTAIN/KEEP  THE HOLY SPIRIT IN OUR LIVES :-

• Have the fear of the Lord in all we do Psa 111:10:Psa 112:1
• Through Prayer and fasting Lk 11:13:Isa 58:6-12
• Reading the word of God everyday and mediating on it Psa 119:9-11:Dan 9:2
• Living a life full of Praise and thanksgiving to God(not complaining/murmuring) Psa 92:1:Eph 5:18-20

Song –Love, Joy, Peace, Patience , Kindness, goodness, Faithfulness and Humility ,self control the fruits of the Holy Spirit

BIBLICAL CHARACTER: Jesus Christ  and His life while He was on Earth

Let the children give examples/instances when Jesus portrayed/Showed the following when He was on earth:

• The fear of the Lord
• Prayer and fasting(Lk 4:1-14:Mat 4:1-11)
• Reading of the word(Lk 4:16-20)
• Praising and Thanking God(Mark 14:23)

MEMORY VERSE   Gal 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering (Patience), gentleness (Kindness), goodness, faith, {5:23}Meekness(Humility), temperance(Self control): against such there is no law

BIBLICAL TRUTH: Holy Spirit lives forever
CHALLENGE FACTOR: Do I have the fruits of the Holy Spirit in my life?

POSITIVE CONFESSION: Holy Spirit of God, Help me bear your fruits
