TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING THE MISSION/WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT/GHOST *(Part 2)

Do a recap of last Sunday’s lesson. Ask the children e.g Who is the Holy Spirit?where does He live?What does He do in our Lives and I the lives of others? Who was our Biblical Character?memory Verse?the songs we sang last Sunday.

TEXT:ACTS 2:17..In the last days,God says,I will pour out my Spirit on all people.  Your sons and daughters will prophecy,your young men will see visions,your old men will dream dreams.

BIBLICAL CHARACTER:Acts 2:1-16 The Disciples of Jesus on the Pentecost Day.(ask the children to name the 12 Disciples of Jesus,ask them after Judas died,for the replacement,they were two proposals.  Who were the two and who was chosen? On that day,all the disciples were together in Jerusalem.  Suddenly a sound like blowing of a violent wind came from Heaven and filled the whole House where they were and all of them were filled with the Holy spirit and they began to speak in other tongues/languages other than their mother tongue(Galileans) until other people thought they were drunk but peter explained to the crowd that it was the Holy Spirit.

MEMORY VERSE:

Acts 1:8  But you shall receive power after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you and you shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem ,and in all Judea and in Samaria and to the ends of the earth..

Objective: Teach and Help the children understand the mission/work of the Holy Ghost/Spirit.

WHAT IS THE WORK/MISSION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT/GHOST?

1.        Reaching out for souls in the Kingdom

-the Holy Spirit helps us to preach/talk about  Jesus to others(Acts 2:4 All(Disciples) of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them)

-The Holy Spirit empowers us for signs and wonders thereby winning souls for Christ

Acts 8:5-7 Phillip in Smaria preached Christ(Miraculous signs,evil spirits,crippled walked,many paralytics healed and many people came to know the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

-Acts 9:32-35 Peter in Lydda/JoppaTowns(in Lyyda-a man called aeneas who was paralytic and bedridden for 8 years.  Peter said to him-Jesus Christ has healed you-get up and tidy your mat.  All those who lived in Lydda and Sharon turned to the Lord .

In Joppa there was Tabitha/Dorcas who was always doing good and helping the poor(making robes and other clothes for widows) became sick and died but peter raised her.  Through this ,many people in Joppa believed in the Lord.

2.Holy Spirit makes us clean/Holy and gives us the Spirit of the fear of the Lord to keep us from evil.

 (Pro 8:13 To fear the Lord is to hate evil

BIBLICAL TRUETH: Holy Spirit helps me tell others about Jesus(Witness)

CHALLENGE FACTOR: How many people have you told about Jesus this week?

POSITIVE CONFESSION: Holy Spirit of God will ALWAYS remain in me.
